Fans were left frustrated as persistent rain led to the entire opening day of the second Test between England and India at Lord’s being washed out.

Not only was there no action on the field, but a toss could not even take place.

With the first day being wiped out, officials confirmed that 98 overs will be bowled on the second day.

It was also confirmed that uncapped Surrey batsman Ollie Pope would make his Test debut.

England hold a 1-0 lead in the five-Test series after they won the highly entertaining first Test at Edgbaston by 31 runs.
