Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has warned his side not to underestimate Zimbabwe or Australia during the upcoming T20 tri-series.
Even though Pakistan are the top-ranked side in the shortest format and will be coming into the series having beaten Scotland 2-0, Sarfraz pointed out that his side cannot afford to be overconfident.
“The Zimbabwe tour is just around the corner but it won’t be easy by any stretch of the imagination,” he was quoted as saying by The Express Tribune. “No team is weak in T20 cricket and hopefully we will perform well in the triangular series. Young players will be inducted in the side whenever an opportunity arises.
“Australia are going through a bad patch but they are not a weak side. Zimbabwe will also pose a stiff challenge as they will have the advantage of home conditions.”
The T20 tri-series will begin on July 1 and run until July 8. After that, Pakistan will go up against Zimbabwe in a five-match ODI series that gets underway on July 13.
