Pakistan batsman Fawad Alam has insisted that he did not break a window out of frustration after getting timed out in a Lancashire League match.
Alam had been accused of smashing a window while representing Clitheroe Cricket Club’s 1st XI against Colne Cricket Club.
After Clitheroe lost opener Thomas Lord for 19 and another batsman right after, Alam was adjudged timed out as he took more than the designated time allowed to come out onto the field.

Responding to claims that he became angry and proceeded to break a window, Alam, as quoted by The Express Tribune, told the Daily Express: “The dressing room window broke accidentally during the league match. It’s not my fault and the umpires also agree with my stance.”
Alam played for Clitheroe last season and after enjoying a lot of success, he was offered the chance to return. After being overlooked for Pakistan’s tour of Ireland and their ongoing tour of England, he agreed to rejoin the club as their overseas professional player.
