England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the one-off ODI against Scotland and the “first part” of the five-match ODI series against Australia that follows due to a torn left hamstring.

Stokes sustained the injury during a fielding session ahead of the second Test against Pakistan at Headingley.

The 27-year-old will have his injury assessed later this week before a decision is made on how many matches he will miss against Australia.

With Stokes out of the Scotland ODI, batsman Dawid Malan has been named as his replacement, while Sam Billings will take his place in the squad for the Australia ODI series.

The lone ODI against Scotland will be held on June 10 in Edinburgh, while the ODI series against Australia begins three days later at The Oval.
