England have called up Surrey left-arm seamer Sam Curran as a potential replacement for all-rounder Ben Stokes, who is currently nursing a tight left hamstring.
Curran arrived in Leeds on Wednesday and trained with the England squad at Headingley on Thursday.
Stokes has yet to undergo a scan on his hamstring and his injury will be closely monitored by England’s medical staff.
Curran will make his international debut if he were to be selected for the second Test against Pakistan, which will be held at Headingley.
England will go into the second Test trailing 1-0 as Pakistan won the first Test at Lord’s by nine wickets.
