India opener Shikhar Dhawan has admitted that he will be looking for revenge when the national team take on Pakistan in next year’s World Cup.
Dhawan was part of India’s Champions Trophy squad that was humiliated by Pakistan in the final last year as they were annihilated by 180 runs.
While a dejected India side could only look on as Pakistan celebrated their maiden Champions Trophy triumph, Dhawan reiterated that his side will aim to avenge that loss in the World Cup.
“Pakistan defeated us in Champions Trophy and now we will be playing them in World Cup,” he was quoted as saying by TimesNowNews. “We will look to beat them and keep our perfect track record intact in the World Cup.”
The highly-anticipated match between India and Pakistan in next year’s World Cup will be held on June 16, 2019 at Old Trafford in Manchester.
