Iconic India batsman Sachin Tendulkar has lauded Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, branding him the “best spinner in the world” in Twenty20 cricket.
Tendulkar’s praise comes after Rashid guided the Sunrisers Hyderabad into the Indian Premier League (IPL) final, where they will face the Chennai Super Kings.
Rashid scored a 10-ball 34 and then proceeded to take figures of 3-19 off his four overs as the Sunrisers defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders in the second qualifier by 14 runs. Rashid also took two catches in the last over of the match and ran out Nitish Rana.
Following his stellar performance, Rashid was lauded by cricketers past and present, but Tendulkar’s high praise will no doubt give him a massive boost in confidence ahead of the final on Sunday.
Always felt @rashidkhan_19 was a good spinner but now I wouldn’t hesitate in saying he is the best spinner in the world in this format. Mind you, he’s got some batting skills as well. Great guy.
