India batsman Suresh Raina firmly believes that wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni will be at his very best in the next two to three years.
Raina and Dhoni are both playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), who have already qualified for the playoffs.
Dhoni, who captains the Super Kings, has been in superb form with the bat as he has scored 430 runs in 13 matches, which includes three half-centuries, at an average of 86.
Having played alongside Dhoni, Raina admitted that the 36-year-old is enjoying himself more than ever when he steps out on the field.
“MS is enjoying his batting. You know he has played down the order for so many years,” Raina told India Today. “He has still finished so many games so well. He is having a good time and that has always been his USP.
“I am sure you remember the hundred he scored against Pakistan in Vizag.. the hundred he scored in Jaipur.. That’s how he is looking like now. He does not feel any pressure now. He has handed over the limited-overs captaincy to Virat Kohli and he is enjoying his batting for India too.
“I think the next two or three years are an extreme prime time for Dhoni.”
