The Melbourne Renegades have signed Hobart Hurricanes all-rounder Dan Christian for the next three seasons of the Big Bash League (BBL).
Christian played an instrumental role in helping the Hurricanes reach the BBL final last season as he scored 216 runs in 12 matches at an average of 27. He also took 11 wickets at an average of 26.63.
“By signing Dan we know we’ve got a T20 player who has proven his ability around the world over a long period of time,” Renegades coach Andrew McDonald was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au. “He has the ability to change the game with his big hitting in the middle order.
“He also brings useful variations with the ball and plenty of experience bowling at the death so having that option gives the team added flexibility.”
Despite winning six of their 10 games last season, the Renegades failed to qualify for the semi-finals as they lost to the Adelaide Strikers, who went on to win the tournament, in a crucial game.
