The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been dealt a big blow as Australia pace bowler Billy Stanlake has been ruled out for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a fractured finger.
Stanlake fractured the pinky finger on his right hand while representing the Sunrisers in their four-wicket loss to the Chennai Super Kings on April 20.
In the four games he played for the Sunrisers, Stanlake took five wickets at an average of 26.
Stanlake will meet with a surgeon upon returning to Australia, but even if he has to undergo surgery, medical staff are confident he will make a full recovery prior to the national team’s limited overs tour of England in June.
Australia’s tour of England will comprise of a five-match ODI series, which begins on June 13 at The Oval, and a one-off Twenty20 International, which will be held at Edgbaston on June 27.
