The Delhi Daredevils have signed England pace bowler Liam Plunkett as a replacement for South Africa seamer Kagiso Rabada.
Rabada was ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to a lower back stress reaction, which will take three months to heal.
The Daredevils retained Rabada during the IPL auction in January for INR 4.2 crores after using their right-to-match card on him.
Plunkett, who was picked from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) list, has never played in the IPL before, but he has put up a string a consistent performances for England. In fact, in 2017, the 33-year-old was the fourth-highest wicket-taker in ODIs with 36 wickets at an average of 22.47.
The Daredevils will kick off their IPL campaign against the Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.
