India pace bowler Mohammed Shami sustained minor head injuries after being involved in a traffic accident while travelling from Dehradun to Delhi.

Shami required a number of stitches on his head and is currently recovering in Dehradun.

Shami’s accident comes just days after the BCCI cleared him of being involved in corrupt activities.

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Committee of Administrators (CoA) called on the BCCI to conduct an investigation after Shami’s wife, Hasin Jahan, claimed that he received money from Mohammed Bhai, a UK national, through a Pakistani woman, known as Alisba, in Dubai.

With Shami’s name cleared, the BCCI gave him his Category B central contract, which had initially been withheld.

Meanwhile, Shami also recently admitted that the last 10 to 15 days has been “mental torture” for him since his wife has made a slew of allegations, including him abusing her and having extramarital affairs with numerous women.
