Bangladesh have been given a major boost ahead of their Nidahas Trophy knockout match with Sri Lanka on Friday as captain Shakib Al Hasan will make his comeback.
The winner of Bangladesh’s clash with Sri Lanka will advance to the final, where they will take on India.
Shakib has been out of action since injuring the little finger on his left hand during the ODI tri-series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka in January.
He subsequently missed the Test and Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka, and was also sidelined for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Having missed a majority of the Nidahas Trophy, Shakib was given the all clear to make his return.
The 30-year-old visited specialists in Thailand and Australia about his finger before returning to Bangladesh and undergoing gym and training sessions in Dhaka this week.
