Travis Head: “I think everyone in world cricket would say the same thing in white-ball cricket – bat as high as they possibly can”

Australia batsman Travis Head is set to be added into the playing XI for the fourth ODI against England in Adelaide after opening batsman Aaron Finch was ruled out of the match with a minor hamstring injury.

Head has batted in a number of positions in the 32 ODIs he has played. He has opened the batting in the past and in the first two ODIs against England, he came in at No.4.

Despite not being able to cement a permanent spot for himself on the batting line-up, the 24-year-old admitted that he has no issue with where he bats.

“I feel like I have been playing well in the Big Bash but I have been disappointed in the way I have started in this series,” he was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz. “I’m happy to bat wherever … as high as I can bat is nice, I think everyone in world cricket would say the same thing in white-ball cricket – bat as high as they possibly can.

“But I’m just happy to get my opportunity again after a pretty disappointing first two games.”

Head made scores of five and seven in the first two ODIs. Should he be picked for the fourth match on January 26, he will no doubt be looking to have a larger impact with the bat.
