Perth Scorchers captain Adam Voges led by example as he smashed an unbeaten 56 to guide his side to a four-wicket win over the Adelaide Strikers.
As a result of their win, the Scorchers overtook the Strikers on the Big Bash League (BBL) standings and now sit in first place. The Strikers, meanwhile, dropped down to second.
Being put in to bat first, the Strikers lost opener Jono Dean in the fifth over as he was caught by Mitchell Johnson off the bowling of Matthew Kelly for seven runs.
The Strikers continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, but Jake Weatherald, who opened the batting with Dean, hammered 56 off 43 balls, which included four boundaries and four sixes, before he was cleaned up by Kelly.

With Alex Carey making a 10-ball 25 and Jake Lehmann scoring an unbeaten 21, the Strikers finished on 137/6 off their 20 overs.
Kelly, Tim Bresnan and Jhye Richardson picked up two wickets apiece.
Chasing 138 to win, the Scorchers were dealt a big blow on the fifth ball of the innings as Sam Whiteman was removed by Michael Neser for eight runs.
Michael Klinger fell shortly after, while Hilton Cartwright and Ashton Turner were dismissed in successive deliveries by Rashid Khan.
With the Scorchers struggling at 28/4, Cameron Bancroft and Voges came to the rescue with a 77-run partnership before Bancroft was clean bowled by Rashid for 49, which came off 39 balls and included six boundaries.
Even though Ashton Agar only made seven, Voges carried the Scorchers across the finish line with three balls to spare.
Voges ended up making 56 off 45 deliveries, which included six boundaries and a six.
Rashid was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Neser, Billy Stanlake and Ben Laughlin claimed one wicket each.
Voges was named Man of the Match.
