South Africa pace bowler Kagiso Rabada has admitted that India tend to rely too much on captain Virat Kohli.

Kohli has once again been India’s best batsman as in the first two Tests of the three-match series, he has scored 191 runs at an average of 47.75.

However, Kohli sent his average skyrocketing with a brilliant 153 in the first innings of the second Test in Centurion.

Despite his efforts, India went on to lose the match by 135 runs and subsequently lost the series as South Africa hold a 2-0 lead going into the final Test in Johannesburg on January 24.

But, while Rabada feels that India depend on Kohli, he admitted that the Proteas have a similar problem, whereby they bank on a few players to get them out of difficult situations.

“I think they do rely on him,” Rabada was quoted as saying by mid-day. “But it is just like we rely on a couple of players too. I’m not saying India don’t have quality players, they do.”

Meanwhile, Rabada also said that South Africa will look to complete a 3-0 series whitewash in Johannesburg.

Both captain Faf du Plessis and batsman AB de Villiers have made this abundantly clear as they are well aware that the opportunity to whitewash India in a Test series doesn’t come around very often.

“Obviously, we know how to play fast bowling and we’ve got respect for their attack,” Rabada said. “Every game you go into, you want to win. So, obviously we want to get a whitewash against India.”
