Afghanistan will make play their inaugural Test match between June 14 and 18 when they take on India in Bangalore.
The historic fixture, which will be the first Test match held in India in June, was set in stone after officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) met in Delhi on Tuesday.
“Considering that June is a rainy month, we thought it was best to host the historic Test in Bengaluru,” BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
The match will mark the first anniversary since Afghanistan and Ireland were given Full Member status by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
