Zimbabwe have called up uncapped pace bowler Blessing Muzarabani for the ODI tri-series in Bangladesh later this month.

While Muzarabani hasn’t played ODI cricket, he did make his international debut last month as he featured in the inaugural four-day Test match against South Africa in Port Elizabeth and finished with figures of 0-48 in the 13 overs he bowled.

However, Muzarabani isn’t the only uncapped player in Zimbabwe’s squad as all-rounder Brandon Mavuta and wicketkeeper-batsman Ryan Murray have also been included.

Mavuta has only played one List A game thus far, while Murray’s tally is at two. Despite this, both players recently played for Zimbabwe’s A team.

While Zimbabwe have included three new faces in the side, they have a host of experienced players too as Brendan Taylor, Kyle Jarvis, Hamilton Masakadza, Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza are all in the team.

Zimbabwe will start the ODI tri-series against hosts Bangladesh on January 15 and play Sri Lanka, who are the third team, two days later.

In their last meeting against Sri Lanka, which came in July last year, Zimbabwe pulled off a memorable series win as they beat Sri Lanka 3-2. What’s more is that it was the first time they had won an ODI series in Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe’s Squad: Hamilton Masakadza, Solomon Mire, Craig Ervine, Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza, Peter Moor, Malcolm Waller, Graeme Cremer (capt), Ryan Murray (wk), Tendai Chisoro, Brandon Mavuta, Blessing Muzarabani, Christopher Mpofu, Tendai Chatara, Kyle Jarvis
