Sunil Ambris will play no part in the ODI series against New Zealand

West Indies batsman Sunil Ambris has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand after fracturing his left forearm.

Ambris sustained the injury on the final day of the second Test in Hamilton, where he was struck on the forearm by a short ball from New Zealand left-arm seamer Neil Wagner.

Despite batting on for a short while, Ambris ended up retiring hurt and was taken to the hospital, where it was revealed that his forearm was fractured.

The injury brings an end to a tough Test series for the 24-year-old as he was dismissed hit wicket in both Tests.

Ambris trod on his stumps on both occasions, the first of which came on the very first ball he faced in his Test career.

The three-match ODI series begins on December 20 in Whangarei.
