Another financial problem is set to befall Zimbabwe Cricket, which could affect the salaries of both players and employees.
Through a memo that was sent around the board, Nesta Vaki, Zimbabwe Cricket’s head of Corporate Affairs and Human Resources, said that staff would only receive half their income for October.
However, the memo added that Zimbabwe Cricket will “do its best to rectify the situation by end November 2017”.
According to ESPNcricinfo, a senior board official claimed that the memo was sent on October 25 and that it was “an internal operational matter which we are dealing with and trying to resolve as soon as possible”.
While there has been no reason given for the board’s financial difficulties, this is not the first time that Zimbabwe Cricket have been in this situation as back in November 2014, players went on strike after being unhappy with the manner in which they were being paid.
