Mohammad Hafeez was reported for a suspect action following the third ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

This is the third time that the veteran all-rounder’s bowling action has come under scrutiny.

The first time this occurred was during a Test match against New Zealand in November 2014, while the second instance came after a Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle in June 2015.

On both occasions, Hafeez’s action was deemed illegal by the International Cricket Council (ICC). As a result, he was banned from bowling for 12 months in June 2015.

While he remedied his action and was allowed to bowl in international matches again, Hafeez now has 14 days to get his action tested.

However, until the results of his test are released, he will be permitted to bowl in any format.
