Mohammad Hafeez has been included in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka, which begins on October 26.

The veteran all-rounder was overlooked for Pakistan’s Twenty20 series against the World XI in Lahore last month, but made the cut this time around.

Hafeez is currently playing in the ongoing ODI series, where he is averaging 37 with the bat after three matches. He has also taken three wickets at an average of 31.66.

Left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir is also in the squad, but his participation in the series will depend on his fitness as he is currently recovering from a shin injury, which he sustained during the second Test against Sri Lanka earlier this month.

With Amir back, pace bowler Sohail Khan did not retain his place in the side, even though he took three wickets at an average of 24 in the three Twenty20 Internationals against the World XI.

The first two Twenty20 Internationals will be held in Abu Dhabi on October 26 and 29 respectively, while the third match will be played in Lahore on October 29.

Pakistan’s T20 Squad: Sarfraz Ahmed (capt & wk), Fakhar Zaman, Ahmed Shahzad, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Aamer Yamin, Mohammad Amir (subject to fitness), Rumman Raees, Usman Khan, Umar Amin
