The deciding Twenty20 International between India and Australia ended in disappoint as the match was called off due to a wet outfield.

Coming into the match, India and Australia were tied at 1-1 after the former won the first match before the latter rebounded in the second Twenty20 International.

However, not even a toss could take place in Hyderabad as the umpires noted that the outfield was so wet in some places that divots were appearing when they dug their heel into the ground.

While the match being called off would have no doubt infuriated the crowd, which was nearly 30,000 in size, it also marked the end of a disappointing tour for Australia as they were unable to win any silverware.

With the Twenty20 trophy being shared and India clinching the ODI series 4-1, the Australians will now turn their attention to the upcoming Ashes series against England in November.

As for India, they will take on New Zealand in a limited overs series on home soil, which will consist of three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals.

The ODI series will get underway on October 22 in Mumbai, while the Twenty20 series begins on November 1 in Delhi.
