Sri Lanka opener Dimuth Karunaratne scored a career-best 196 to keep his side in total control over Pakistan on the second day of the day-night Test in Dubai.
Starting off the day on 254/3, Sri Lanka only added 28 runs to their overnight score before captain Dinesh Chandimal was given out lbw off the bowling of Yasir Shah for 62, which came off 195 balls and included six boundaries.
Karunaratne and wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella made up for the loss of Chandimal with an 88-run partnership, during which Dickwella brought up his fifty.
However, he was on his way back to the pavilion shortly after as he was caught behind off the bowling of Mohammad Abbas for 52 off 53 deliveries, which included five boundaries.
Karunaratne and Dilruwan Perera kept the scoreboard ticking with a 59-run stand before Karunaratne’s time at the crease came to an end when he was four runs short of his maiden double hundred.
Karunaratne’s superb innings of 196 came off 405 balls and included 19 boundaries and a six.
Dilruwan went on to score 58 off 76 balls, which included seven boundaries, before Sri Lanka began to lose wickets in a hurry.
Rangana Herath managed to score an unbeaten 27 as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 482.
Yasir was the pick of the bowlers with six wickets, while Abbas took two, and Mohammad Amir, who left the field with a shin injury, and Wahab Riaz chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Trailing by 482 runs, Pakistan made a solid start to their innings as Sami Aslam and Shan Masood amassed an unbeaten 51-run partnership before stumps was called.
Aslam finished on 30 off 49 balls, which included three boundaries, while Masood remained undefeated on 15 off 59 deliveries, which included a solitary boundary.
Pakistan ended day one on 51/0 and will continue batting on Sunday at 15:30 local time or 11:30 GMT.
