Mohammad Amir will play no part in the Twenty20 series against the World XI

Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir will miss the three-match Twenty20 series against the World XI as his wife gave birth to a baby girl on Tuesday.
Amir is currently in England with his wife as he has been representing Essex in the County Championship and the recently concluded Natwest T20 Blast.

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed confirmed that Sohail Khan, who replaced Amir, will keep hold of his place in the squad.
“There is no change of plan as we had already named a 16-man squad with Sohail Khan as an extra bowler with Amir expecting his first baby,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. “Unfortunately he isn’t available, but we have full options available.”
Amir’s absence will be a big blow for Pakistan as he took five wickets during Pakistan’s successful Champions Trophy campaign in June. The 25-year-old was outstanding with the ball in the final against India as he finished with figures of 3-16 off six overs.
In regards to his county season with Essex, Amir claimed 14 wickets at an average of 13.50 in three County Championship matches. As for the Natwest T20 Blast, the Punjab native snapped up 14 wickets in 13 games at an average of 23.
The three Twenty20s between Pakistan and the World XI will take place on September 12, 13 and 15 respectively.
