Pakistan seamer Hasan Ali has revealed that South Africa batsman Hashim Amla is the man he would most love to dismiss in the Independence Cup.

The Independence Cup will consist of three Twenty20s and will see Pakistan take on a World XI squad that will be captained by South Africa’s Faf du Plessis.

“The World XI is a good team, it has very good players, I will try to bowl well to all of them,” he said. “Especially I would like to out brother Hashim Amla, it would give me more pleasure.”

Hasan also expressed his excitement at playing on home soil as all three Twenty20s will be held in Lahore.

This tournament is seen as a major stepping stone in bringing international cricket back to Pakistan as no Full Member nation, except for Zimbabwe, have toured the country since Sri Lanka’s team bus was ambushed by armed militants, which left eight people dead and nine wounded.

“This is my first international match on my home ground in Pakistan. I’m very excited to play in front of my home crowd on my home ground,” he said.

Hasan will be going into the series on a high as he was the highest wicket-taker at the Champions Trophy in June as he took 13 wickets in five games at an average of 14.69.

Hasan was also named Player of the Tournament as thanks to his consistent performances with the ball, Pakistan went on to win the competition for the first time.

The three Twenty20s will be held on September 12, 13 and 15 respectively.
