South Africa have released all-rounder JP Duminy from their squad for the remainder of the ongoing Test series against England.

After managing to muster just 17 runs in two innings in the first Test at Lord’s, Duminy was dropped for the second Test at Trent Bridge.

Given that he will miss the last two Tests, it seems to be an indication that Duminy’s Test career has come to an end.

Meanwhile, the Proteas have opted to keep uncapped batsman Aiden Markram in their side, even though he is unlikely to be selected for the remaining Tests.

It is understood that the decision to retain Markram was based on the fact that the selectors are confident he will learn a lot from being around the senior players in the side, like Hashim Amla and captain Faf du Plessis.
