Legendary Sri Lanka pace bowler Chaminda Vaas has been appointed as the bowling coach of the national team, albeit on a temporary basis.
Vaas will replace Champaka Ramanayake, who ended his time with the Sri Lankan side due to “personal reasons”.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that Vaas “will guide the pace attack for the India tour of Sri Lanka”.
As for Ramanayake, he is understood to have several options on the table, but has yet to decide which route to go down.
It has been reported that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are interested in making him part of their high performance unit, especially as he served as the country’s bowling coach in March 2008.
