Bangladesh left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak sustained injuries after he was involved in a car accident in the Kashiani area of Gopalganj district.
Razzak received treatment for his injuries and is said to be “out of danger”.
It is understood the accident occurred when one of the tyres exploded while Razzak was driving on the Dhaka-Khulna highway.
Razzak’s wife Ishrat Jahan Oni, two-year-old son Adian, sister and two nieces were also in the car when it plunged into a roadside ditch.
Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim called on the country to “pray” for Razzak and his family following the accident.
“Our very own Razzak Raz bhai had a severe accident on his way from Khulna. I request you all to pray for him please!!!” he said via his Facebook account.
Razzak, who last played international cricket in 2014, is Bangladesh’s third-highest wicket-taker in ODIs with 207 scalps at an average of 29.29.
