The West Indies and Afghanistan were forced to settle for a 1-1 series draw after the third ODI in St Lucia was abandoned without a single ball bowled.

Despite the heavens parting overnight and persistent rain falling throughout the day, a toss did take place and Afghanistan opted to bat after calling correctly.

However, due to rain refusing to relent, the chances of the decider going ahead faded quickly.

At 7.25pm, it was made official that the match had been called off due to inclement weather.

Afghanistan stunned the West Indies by 63 runs in the first ODI, but the hosts bounced back with a four-wicket win in the second match on Sunday.
