Sanath Jayasuriya may lose his position as Sri Lanka’s chief selector after he allegedly leaked a sex tape.

The sex tape is understood to show Jayasuriya and his ex-wife Maleeka Sirisenage, who is now married to a well known Sri Lankan businessman.

According to a top official at Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Jayasuriya may no longer be chief selector after the Champions Trophy in England, which concludes later this month.

“Recently his private life video is leaked to the media and it is very bad public perception and we don’t want him to continue as a selector,” the official said. “He has disgraced the game and the nation.”

Another official added: “It is quite likely that Jayasuriya may not be our selector post Champions Trophy.”

It has been reported that Jayasuriya leaked the sex tape to seek revenge, while it is also alleged that his ex-wife has filed a complaint against him and accused him of leaking the video.
