Australia all-rounder Travis Head has made it clear that he has no issue with batting anywhere in the top six during the Champions Trophy.
In Australia’s Champions Trophy warm-up match against Sri Lanka on Friday, Head took one wicket before going on to score an unbeaten 85 to lead his side to a two-wicket win with two balls to spare.
“It was nice to get runs but as I keep saying, I’m adaptable, so one to six doesn’t faze me, as long as I’m playing cricket for Australia,” he said. “It was nice to be there at the end. I’ve had a few opportunities to do the same thing and I haven’t been able to.
“It’s pleasing to get out there and make a few runs and spend some time out in the middle.”
Australia will kick off their Champions Trophy campaign against New Zealand at Edgbaston on June 2.
