Pakistan chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq is confident that the national team have what it takes to beat India and win the Champions Trophy next month.
Pakistan will get their Champions Trophy campaign underway on June 4 when they take on their arch-rivals at Edgbaston.
Despite India having defeated Pakistan in their last three meetings, which came at the 2015 World Cup, the 2016 Asia Cup and last year’s World Twenty20, Inzamam believes that the tables will be turned when they go head to head in England.
“We are not going to England just to beat India but our prime target is to win the championship,” Inzamam said.
Pakistan have never won the Champions Trophy before and nor have they made it to the final, but given the squad they have this time around, Inzamam feels that a change of fortune is on the horizon.
“We can win,” he said.
