The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that Shashank Manohar will continue on as chairman until June 2018.
In March, Manohar announced that he would be stepping down from the position due to “personal reasons”.
However, following “overwhelming support” from directors of both Full Member and Associate nations, Manohar revealed that he would stay on until the governing body’s annual conference in June.
But, after once again receiving a wave of support, Manohar decided to continue on as ICC chairman until June next year.
“The International Cricket Council today confirmed Shashank Manohar will continue to function as the independent chairman of ICC until the end of his elected term, which is June 2018,” a statement said.
