Bangladesh quartet get central contracts for first time

The Bangladesh quartet of Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Mosaddek Hossain all received central contracts for the first time in their careers.

Mehedi and Rabbi have been given Grade D contracts, which will see them earn US$ 15,000 apiece this year, while Taskin and Mosaddek will get $22,500 each as they were handed Grade C contracts.

Previously, Grade D contracts were worth $11,250, while the salary for Grade C contracts used to be $15,000.

With Mehedi, Taskin, Rabbi and Mosaddek receiving central contracts, Nasir Hossain, Al-Amin Hossain and Arafat Sunny were overlooked.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Mahmudullah was demoted from a Grade A+ contract to a Grade A contract and will earn $45,000.

Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim, newly-appointed Twenty20 skipper Shakib Al Hasan, ODI captain Mashrafe Mortaza and opening batsman Tamim Iqbal were the four players to receive Grade A+ contracts, which will see them get $60,000.
