Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan has revealed that Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq and veteran batsman Younis Khan will be offered top roles in the board once they retire.
Misbah and Younis both confirmed that they will be ending their illustrious international careers after the ongoing three-Test series against the West Indies.
Both Younis and Misbah have already made history in the series as the former became the first Pakistan player to score 10,000 Test runs, while the latter became the seventh Pakistani batsman to reach 5,000 runs in the longest format.
“When both Misbah and Younis would return from West Indies we will give them a proposal regarding to work with the board and hopefully they will accept it,” Shaharyar said.
Meanwhile, legendary Pakistan batsman and former International Cricket Council (ICC) president Zaheer Abbas believes the PCB should use Misbah and Younis to help groom talented youngsters.
“Young players can learn a lot from Misbah and Younis and their experience would prove useful to players in many ways,” he told APP.
