The Kings XI Punjab have added India pace bowler Ishant Sharma to their squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Ishant went unsold at the IPL auction in February and will join up with the Kings XI prior to their opening game against the Rising Pune Supergiants on Saturday.
“I share a strong bond with Ishant Sharma as he played under my captaincy in the Ranji Trophy and later in the India team. His addition will most definitely strengthen our squad,” Virender Sehwag, Kings XI’s head of cricket operations, said via a release.
Last year, Ishant played for the Supergiants, but only featured in four matches and claimed three wickets at an average of 49.33 and an economy rate of 9.86.
