Legendary Pakistan pace bowler and former head coach Waqar Younis believes that wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal should not have been recalled to the national team.

Akmal had been on the national selectors’ radar for quite a while as he excelled in all formats in the 2016/17 domestic season.

After being overlooked numerous times, his hopes of making his international comeback came to fruition when he was selected for Pakistan’s ongoing tour of the West Indies.

However, Younis feels that Pakistan made a big mistake in picking Akmal.

Akmal has failed to dazzle in the Twenty20 series as in the two matches that have been played, he has scored 22 and 0 respectively.
