Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan has revealed that Bangladesh turned down the board’s offer to travel to Pakistan for a Twenty20 series.
Shaharyar confirmed that the PCB had invited Bangladesh to play a two-match Twenty20 series in Pakistan after the Champions Trophy in England in June.
With Bangladesh declining to visit Pakistan, it could put some strain on their scheduled home series against Pakistan in July.
“BCB declined the invite,” Shaharyar said. “However, we will now revisit that decision as Pakistan has already toured Bangladesh at least twice in the past. Pakistan’s visit is not yet confirmed.”
It is likely that top officials from the PCB and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will discuss the matter further during the next round of International Cricket Council (ICC) meetings in April.
