Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and debutant Mosaddek Hossain scored 116 and 75 respectively to build a solid lead for their side on the third day in Colombo.

Starting off the day on 214/5, Shakib and captain Mushfiqur Rahim converted their 16-run partnership into a 92-run partnership, during which Rahim brought up his fifty, before he was clean bowled by Suranga Lakmal for 52 off 81 balls, which included six boundaries.

Shakib and Mosaddek kept the runs flowing with a 131-run partnership, during which Shakib registered his hundred and Mosaddek his half-century.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz scored 24 before being trapped lbw off the bowling of Sri Lanka stand-in captain Rangana Herath, who struck again on the very next ball he bowled as Mustafizur suffered the same fate.

Bangladesh ended up being bowled out for 467, which gave them a 129-run lead, when Mosaddek was stumped by Niroshan Dickwella off the bowling of Herath for 75, which came off 155 deliveries and included seven boundaries and two sixes.
