Sri Lanka have a 182-run lead in hand going into their second innings after they bowled Bangladesh out for 312 before the rain came on the third day of the first Test in Galle.

Starting off the day 133/2, Bangladesh were only able to add nine runs to their score before Soumya Sarkar was dismissed by Suranga Lakmal for 71 off 137 balls, which included eight boundaries and a six.

Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah and Liton Das fell at regular intervals before captain Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehedi Hasan Miraz stabilised the innings with a 106-run partnership, during which Rahim surpassed his half-century.

With the duo going nicely, Sri Lanka had to wait for a lengthy period of time for their next wicket, which came when Dilruwan Perera trapped Mehedi lbw for 41.

Perera struck again the very next ball as Taskin Ahmed departed in the same fashion.

Rahim ended up making 85 off 161 balls, which included eight boundaries and a six, before he was clean bowled by stand-in captain Rangana Herath.
