On the eve of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Australia left-arm seamer Mitchell Starc have parted ways.
The move comes after Starc confirmed that he will not be featuring in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
As a result of Starc’s decision to pull out of the event, RCB now have two spots for overseas players and will be allowed to spend a total of INR 17.825 crore (US$ 2,660,447 approximately) at the auction.
Starc has been with RCB since 2014, but missed the IPL last year as he was recovering from a foot fracture.
However, in the two seasons he played, the 27-year-old had a huge impact with the ball as in 2014 he took 14 wickets at an average of 28.71. A year later, he finished with 20 wickets at an average of 14.55.
