Pakistan batsman Khalid Latif has insisted that he is innocent following allegations of his involvement in a spot-fixing scandal in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Latif and Sharjeel Khan, both of whom play for Islamabad United, were provisionally suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and sent home from the tournament last week.
While the duo have returned to Pakistan, their mobile phones are currently with the PCB’s anti-corruption unit.
Latif initially dodged questions about whether he was involved in the scandal, but ultimately told reporters: “As God is my witness, I have never done anything wrong.”
According to sources in the PCB that spoke to the Daily Express, Latif and Sharjeel could be banned for life.
