Veteran Bangladesh duo Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan made 81 not out and 82 respectively, but India still have the upper hand going into the penultimate day of the one-off Test in Hyderabad.

Starting off the day on 41/1, Bangladesh only added three runs to their overnight score before opener Tamim Iqbal was run out by Umesh Yadav for 24.

Mominul Haque fell for 12, while Mahmudullah scored 28 before he was trapped lbw off the bowling of Ishant Sharma.

Shakib and Mushfiqur, who captains Bangladesh, stabilised the innings with a 107-run partnership, during which Shakib sailed past his half-century.

With Bangladesh beginning to claw their way back into contention, Ravichandran Ashwin provided the breakthrough India needed as he removed Shakib for 82, which came off 103 balls and included 14 boundaries.
