India have brought in left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav to replace fellow spinner Amit Mishra for the one-off Test against Bangladesh.
Kuldeep received his maiden call-up to the Test squad after Mishra was ruled out of the match due to a knee injury.
Mishra injured his knee during the third and final Twenty20 International against England on February 1 and has now been advised to rest. But, the 34-year-old will be assessed at a later date.
Kuldeep is the fourth spinner in India’s squad and is therefore unlikely to play as Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Jayant Yadav are likely to make up India’s spin attack.
Jayant missed the fifth Test against England in December due to a hamstring injury, but has proven that he is fit for the game against Bangladesh as he represented Haryana in four domestic Twenty20 matches and also featured for India A in the warm-up match against Bangladesh.
The Test match between India and Bangladesh begins on February 9 in Hyderabad.
