Bangladesh opener Imrul Kayes has been ruled out of the one-off Test against India due to a left thigh injury.
Kayes sustained the injury while fielding on day two of the warm-up match against India A at the Gymkhana ground in Hyderabad.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media manager Rabeed Imam revealed that Kayes aggravated the same hamstring injury that ruled him out of the second Test against New Zealand in Christchurch last month.
With Kayes out, it is likely that Soumya Sarkar will take his opening spot as the same thing occurred in the second Test against New Zealand.
Another sign that points to that is the fact that Bangladesh have flown in middle order batsman Mosaddek Hossain instead of calling up another opener.
The one-off Test between India and Bangladesh begins on February 9 in Hyderabad.
Bangladesh squad: Mushfiqur Rahim (capt & wk), Tamim Iqbal, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Mehedi Hasan, Taijul Islam, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Soumya Sarkar, Taskin Ahmed, Subashis Roy, Liton Das (wk), Mominul Haque, Shafiul Islam, Mosaddek Hossain.
