Persistent rain led to the third day of the second Test between New Zealand and Bangladesh in Christchurch being completely abandoned.

The rain began at around 6am and never really stopped throughout the morning and afternoon, which led to the umpires calling off the day at 4pm.

With the weather expected to improve on the fourth and fifth day, the possibility of a result is high.

New Zealand lead the two-match series 1-0 following an incredible come-from-behind win in the first Test in Wellington.

New Zealand ended day three on 260/7 and will continue batting on Monday at 10:30 local time or 21:30 GMT (the previous day).
