England seamer Tymal Mills has been signed by the Brisbane Heat in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) as a replacement for Samuel Badree.
Badree will be sidelined for at least two weeks due to a hamstring injury and with the BBL Technical Committee approving the Heat’s request to sign Mills, he could make his BBL debut against the Perth Scorchers next Wednesday.
As of late, Mills has been playing for the Auckland Aces in New Zealand’s Super Smash tournament, where he has taken 10 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 23.70.
“With Sam Badree and Josh Lalor both out injured at the moment, the opportunity to provide additional variety to the attack was very attractive,” Heat coach Daniel Vettori said. “Tymal has been going well for Auckland so he is match-ready.
“We’re looking forward to having him join us and prepare for the matches ahead at the Gabba and the MCG where the conditions should suit him.”
The Heat currently sit at the top of the BBL points table as they have won four of their five games thus far.
