England batsman Joe Root could miss the early portion of the national team’s limited overs tour of India due to the impending birth of his first child.
England, who recently played a five-Test series in India, will return to the country later this week and will play two warm-up matches before the ODI series begins on January 15.
Root, on the other hand, is expected to remain in England with his partner Carrie and according to Press Association Sport, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are unsure when the 26-year-old will head to India.
In the aforementioned Test series, which England lost 4-0, Root was the second-highest run-scorer with 491 runs, which included a century and four fifties, at an average of 49.10.
