West Indies batsman Darren Bravo has opted to take legal action against the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), accusing them of unlawful dismissal, after he was sent home during the recent tour of Zimbabwe.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian, the 27-year-old has already served legal papers to Cameron and the WICB.

The West Indies were involved in an ODI tri-series with Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, but before the series could even start, Bravo was on his way back home after lashing out at WICB president Dave Cameron via Twitter, where he called the 45-year-old a “big idiot”.

Bravo’s infuriation towards Cameron and the WICB stemmed from the fact that they claimed he had been offered a Grade A contract.

Instead, Bravo was presented with a Grade C contract, which he turned down as he felt that he deserved better considering that he has been one of the West Indies’ most consistent batsmen as of late.

West Indies director of cricket Richard Pybus asked Bravo to remove the tweet, but the Trinidad and Tobago native has not only refused to do this, but he has also opted not to apologise for his comments about Cameron.
